Privacy Policy
Last updated November 5, 2026
The short version
- We keep only what we need to run your account: your email, an optional name and which companies you’ve analyzed this month.
- Your password is stored only in a form that can’t be turned back into it. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us.
- Your watchlist, journal and settings stay in your browser.
- No advertising, no tracking cookies, and we never sell your information.
1. Who we are
WallstDaily (wallst-daily.com) is operated by Wallst-Daily (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use WallstDaily, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Contact us at support@wallst-daily.com.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your email address and, if you give one, your name.
- Password: stored only as a salted scrypt hash, which can’t be turned back into your password. We never see or store the password itself.
- Sign-in sessions: when you sign in, your browser gets a random sign-in token in a cookie. We store only a scrambled (hashed) copy of it, with when it was created and when it expires.
- Plan usage: the ticker symbols of the companies you analyze in each calendar month, so we can apply the free plan’s limit.
- Billing: if you subscribe to Pro, we store your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, your plan status and your renewal date. Stripe collects and stores your payment details and billing address, and uses the address to work out sales tax. We never receive your full card number.
- Messages: anything you send us by email.
- Connection information: to stop password-guessing and spam sign-ups, the server keeps the IP address of recent sign-in and sign-up attempts in memory for up to an hour. We don’t keep access logs of the pages you visit.
We don’t ask for your address, phone number, date of birth or financial accounts, and we don’t record your brokerage holdings.
3. Information that stays in your browser
Your watchlist, recent searches, journal entries, memo notes, portfolio entries, scoring profile and light or dark setting are saved in your browser’s local storage on your device. They are not sent to our servers, and they are deleted if you clear your browser’s site data.
4. Cookies
We use one cookie, sl_session, which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It is essential for the site to
work and can’t be read by scripts on the page. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies. When you open the payment
form, Stripe may set its own cookies to prevent fraud. See Stripe’s privacy policy for details.
5. How we use your information
- to provide your account and the Service, and keep you signed in;
- to apply your plan, including the free plan’s monthly limit;
- to take payments and manage your subscription;
- to keep the Service secure and prevent abuse; and
- to contact you about your account, billing or important changes. We don’t send marketing emails unless you ask us to.
6. Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t share it for advertising. We share information only with companies that help us run WallstDaily, only as far as they need it:
- Stripe, which processes payments and manages subscriptions (stripe.com/privacy).
- DigitalOcean, which hosts our server in the United States.
- Content networks: Google Fonts, jsDelivr and unpkg supply the site’s fonts and chart software. Your browser contacts them directly, so they receive your IP address and basic browser information.
- Our market data provider receives the ticker symbols our server looks up, but not who looked them up.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or ourselves, or as part of a sale or merger of WallstDaily. In that case, this policy would continue to apply to your information.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your account information for as long as your account exists. Monthly usage records are needed only for the current month, and we may delete older ones at any time. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it within 30 days. Copies in our server backups are removed within 4 weeks after that. Stripe keeps payment records for as long as the law requires.
8. Security
Connections to WallstDaily are encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords and sign-in tokens are stored only as hashes. The server is protected by a firewall and receives automatic security updates. No system is perfectly secure, but we will tell you promptly if a breach affects your information.
9. Your rights and choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email support@wallst-daily.com from the address on your account and we will reply within 30 days. You can cancel Pro at any time from Manage billing in your account menu.
California residents: under the California Consumer Privacy Act, you have the rights to know, delete and correct your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for using these rights. We don’t sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in that law. We will respond to verified requests within 45 days.
10. Children
WallstDaily is for adults. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will delete it.
11. Where your information is stored
Our server is in the United States, and Stripe may process payment information in the United States and other countries. By using WallstDaily from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be handled there.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. For significant changes, we will email you or show a notice on the site before they take effect.
